Philly Bread is a wholesale, bread only bakery, located in the Olney section of Philadelphia, PA. We are obsessed with inventing, producing and selling high quality bread to restaurants, grocers, and consumers throughout the Philadelphia area. Our mission is to become a major producer of ‘craft’ bread throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. With this ambition, we are always on the lookout for innovators and forward thinkers.

THE POSITION

As a fast growing bakery, we need trained bakers who are ready to consistently make great bread. Strong preference is given to experienced candidates. If you have no bread experience and still want to be considered, you will have to put in a lot of extra time and energy to catch up with our skilled team. We are passionate, focused and skilled.

Responsibilities

• Mix, cut, shape,and bake bread with consistent results.
• Constantly consider the relation between dough, time, and temperature.
• Clean as you go.

Qualifications

• Have knowledge of pre-ferments, mixing, shaping, proofing, and baking.
• Have experience with food sanitation principles.
• Lift at least 50 lbs and stand on your feet for at least 8 hours.
• Pay attention to detail.
• Be highly punctual.

Preference will be given to applicants who:

• Are fluent in Spanish
• Have earned a bachelor's degree

Start date: As soon as possible.
Schedule: 35+ hours/week
Starting rate: commensurate with experience
